Hajira Maryam works at Amnesty International's Algorithmic Accountability Lab (AAL), a research facility that addresses the negative impacts of automation and the use of artificial intelligence in social welfare distribution. Her work focuses primarily on the strategic communication of these aspects of automation and AI, and she is dedicated to researching and raising awareness about how AI used by governments contributes to exacerbating inequalities and discrimination against marginalised groups.
