Natalie Treviño is currently at the Open University in the UK, where she is completing her first book, On the Coloniality of Westernised Space Exploration. Her work on the coloniality of space exploration draws on archaeoastronomy, which is concerned with the astronomical knowledge of ancient civilizations and indigenous communities. She also draws on traditions of decolonial theory, feminist ecology, the philosophy of the Zapatistas, and believes in space exploration that at its core has not the desire to mine the universe but the desire to experience it.
