Haruna Honcoop is a Czech-Japanese documentary filmmaker. She studied Sinology at Charles University and is completing her doctoral studies at FAMU, focusing on Taiwanese identity as depicted in documentary cinema. Her films Truth or False (2017), deal with Czech-Chinese relations, Olympic Halftime (2023) criticizes the Olympic Games in China, Japan, and France, and the Czech TV series Taiwanese Reader portrays important contemporary writers from Taiwan (2025). She is currently developing a documentary film, Island of Freedom, in Taiwan.
