Jindřiška Bláhová is a film historian, academic, and journalist at Respekt, where she's worked since 2016, after working at Lidové noviny and Hospodářské noviny. She got PhD in Film History from the University of East Anglia and Charles University. Her dissertation on selling Hollywood films behind the Iron Curtain earned her the Bolzano Prize. She covers film, television, and the industry around them, and writes on everything from drag queens to wrestling. In 2023, she has co-authored and edited Proplétání světů (Intertwining of worlds), a history of the Karlovy Vary Film Festival during the Cold War. She has lectured about film at universities in the UK and now heads the Department of Audiovisual History and Theory at FAMU in Prague.
