Jindřiška Jelínková has worked at the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic (AOPK ČR) since her studies at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. Most of her professional life has been dedicated to the regulation of international trade in endangered species (CITES convention) and international cooperation in nature conservation. For the last 7 years, she has been the Director of the Species Protection Department, which manages animal and plant protection (recovery programs), invasive species and their eradication, and international trade in endangered species. Simultaneously, she is the national coordinator of the Wolf Management Plan in the Czech Republic—seeking coexistence between large carnivores and society, setting financial mechanisms for affected groups (farmers), and focusing on enlightenment, education, and upbringing. Her department has implemented numerous projects focused on the protection of large carnivores spontaneously returning to Czechia and the permeability of the landscape.
