Johanna Nejedlová co-founded the non-profit organization Konsent, focusing on addressing issues related to sexual violence, more broadly, sexual education and advocates for systemic change. Her efforts culminated in a major victory: changing the legal definition of rape to focus on the absence of consent, ensuring better protection for survivors. Initially, many lawmakers claimed this reform would never happen. However, Johanna’s multifaceted strategy—including over 160 meetings with politicians, conducting research, delivering expertise, and creating public pressure through online and offline campaigns—reshaped both political and public opinion. Teaming up with Amnesty International, Johanna and her NGO Konsent successfully created momentum for the legal change. In 2019, Johanna received the Women of Europe award in the category of Woman in Youth Activism. In 2020, Forbes magazine included her in their 30 Under 30 selection, recognizing thirty notable individuals under the age of thirty.
