Markéta Švarcová is a sociologist working at the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Her professional focus is on gender inequality in the labour market. She has published a monograph entitled Podnikatelky? (2020) (Women Entrepreneurs?), which deals with the precarious position of women entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic. She is a member of the COST P-WILL Platform Work Inclusion Living Lab, where she focuses on the topic of the platform economy. She is also the co-author of the podcast series Platformy na hraně (Platforms on the Edge) and teaches a course on gender at CIEE Prague.

Her project, Best Job Ever: Pod diktátem algoritmu (Best Job Ever: Under the Dictates of the Algorithm), is part of Matchmaking.
