Michal Plánka is a geographic information systems (GIS) specialist and data analyst. He works with spatial data and its analysis in the areas of transport, noise, sport, crime and territorial development. He is interested in how data and geoinformation technologies can be used in the planning of cities and municipalities, that is, how data on what is happening in a territory can inform decisions about where and how cities and municipalities develop. He works at the start-up Active Cities Hub, which develops data-driven strategies for sport development and for promoting active lifestyles among city and municipality residents.
