Stanislav Biler is a writer, sociologist, and journalist. His work focuses on domestic politics, education, and life in Czechia's peripheries. He produces the show Všichni tady umřeme (We will all die here) for the news outlet Alarm. He is a two-time winner of the OSF Journalism Award for an article on the depopulating region, and for an essay on how the failures of a broken system get repackaged as individual failure. His novel Destrukce (Destruction) (2021), an existential, environmentally-charged story of a teacher who leaves the city for the countryside, won the Magnesia Litera award. He has worked as a script editor at Czech Television and co-founded the political satire movement Žít Brno (To live Brno).
