Sufian Massalema is a poet born in Jablonec nad Nisou, but now lives in Prague. He studied law at the Faculty of Law of Charles University, and is simultaneously attending Middle Eastern Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. For several years, he has been part of the Czech slam poetry scene and performed in Romania, Egypt or Vietnam. His poetry texts have been translated into Polish, Spanish, English, Arabic and French. His debut collection Možnosti přehlíženého was published by Větrné mlýny in 2024, and later nominated for the Jiri Orten literature prize.
