Varvara Borisova works at the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where she researches innovative foods and food technologies. In her doctoral research, she focuses on the medicalization and treatment of obesity in the Czech Republic. She is a member of the Interdisciplinary Platform for the Study of Nutrition and Metabolism in a Social and Ecological Context (VÝSEK).
