Europe is facing a series of crises – from war, energy and climate crisis and transformation to growing pressure from tech giants. Yet the Union seems sluggish in the face of these numerous challenges. It is complex, slow to act, and bogged down in compromises. Is this just a problem of bureaucracy, or is the model itself failing, simply unable to cope with these turbulent times? Can the EU secure key resources, strengthen its defense, and restore citizens' trust? Should the Union primarily speed up, or do we need to reinvent it?
