Anna Durnová is a Professor of Political Sociology at the University of Vienna and a Faculty Fellow at the Center for Cultural Sociology at Yale University. Her research focuses on the role of emotions in democratic societies. She currently coordinates the international CIDAPE project, which examines the climate crisis from the perspective of democratic theory and emotions, as well as the LONERS project. Her publications include The Politics of Intimacy (2018) and Understanding Emotions in Post-Factual Politics (2019). In 2024, she was awarded the Mattei Dogan Foundation Prize for European Political Sociology. Her feminist play Hodina ženy (An Hour of a Woman) was staged by Divadlo Feste.
