The idea of a “good life” often seems like a private choice, but its script is largely written by institutions, economic conditions, and social expectations. This panel brings together research on relationships and social norms, political perspective, experiences of life in allotment-garden communities, and the topic of voluntary childlessness. The speakers will ask how much room we really have to live on our own terms, and what society must change so that alternative life paths are not a privilege available only to those who can afford them.
