Dan Perjovschi is a Romanian visual artist and cartoonist whose work offers a satirical reflection on the current political, social, and cultural landscape. His artistic style emerged from his work as a press cartoonist in Romania in the early 1990s, when he developed a distinctive approach based on rapid, economical lines and dark humour. Today, he draws directly on the walls, floors, and windows of galleries and museums, treating them as an extension of his sketchbook. His work has been exhibited at MoMA, Tate Modern, Centre Pompidou, and Documenta, among other venues. He describes himself as a “drawing provider” and makes his work freely available for activist purposes.
