David Ondráčka is an expert on oligarchization and political corruption. He has authored Kauza Česko: Reflections on Czech Post-Communism (2025), drawing on his years leading Transparency International to expose the corruption cases he says have drained tens of billions of crowns from the Czech Republic. The book also takes a critical look at 35 years of post-1989 development and asks how to overhaul a system he believes has run its course. He now works in advisory and consulting roles in the private sector, teaches at Czech universities, and writes a regular column for Newstream.cz. He calls both Paris and Prague home, together with his family.
