Jonáš Kucharský is a Czech journalist, curator, and expert in the field of sound and film music, working at the National Film Archive in Prague since 2018. He studied musicology at Masaryk University's Faculty of Arts and specializes in film sound, music in film, digitization, and restoration of audio materials. In recent years, he has also been involved in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in archiving and film sound. In his work, he explores how AI can help with the automatic recognition of music, voices, and sounds in old film recordings. He participates in testing machine-learning algorithms for digitisation and cataloging in digital archives. He is also interested in the ethical aspects of using AI in cultural heritage and connecting archival practice with new technologies.
