Housing is becoming increasingly expensive, rental contracts are more complicated, and the security of a home is more uncertain. This workshop, entitled Dear Landlord, led by members of the Czech Tenants' Initiative, offers a practical guide to the rights and obligations of anyone who lives in rented housing. And there are lots of us! Together, we’ll discuss the most common pitfalls that people in rented accommodation face – from non-refundable deposits and arbitrary fees to poor communication with landlords. Participants will take away specific tips on how to defend themselves, how to recognize unfair treatment, and where to seek help. The workshop creates a safe space for sharing experiences. And perhaps one key finding: that even people living in rented accommodation have more power than they think.
